THC Sandwiches at Seattle’s Marijuana Restaurant

MagicalButter is embracing the budding cannabis industry.

Founded in Seattle by Garyn Angel, the company started last year with his invention, the MagicalButter Botanical Extractor. They made headlines last May when they introduced the MagicalButter Food Truck, which features an all cannabis infused menu. Now MagicalButter is opening a brick and mortar restaurant in Seattle.

The MagicalButter Studio is for “cannaisseurs” who want to eat the finest in marijuana edibles. Items on the menu include grilled cheese and pulled pork sandwiches, and it’s all made with cannabis infused oil, butter or cheese. The sandwiches will cost about $10 more than a drug-free option. Interestingly enough many of the company’s food truck patrons report that these are the best gourmet sandwiches they have ever tasted. The bright pink bus has been driving between Washington and Colorado since it debuted at Denver’s Cannabis Cup. Presumably it is driven by the company mascot, a man with a bright green stick of butter for a head.

It can be difficult for novices to judge how much marijuana they should consume in one sitting. For safety reasons there will be a medical expert onsite at the restaurant to advise people on how much THC they can consume, according to their experience level and body type. According to Angel, “We have to work on [these things] to make sure no one has an experience they’re uncomfortable with.”

In both Washington and Colorado the drug has been legalized for recreational use by anyone over the age of 21. However it’s not okay to use marijuana in the streets or park because there are still public consumption laws. MagicalButter Studio will be private property, so it is technically legal for them to serve ganja based food and drinks.

This isn’t the first marijuana restaurant to be invented. The newly legalized substance has opened up all sorts of business niches. Denver already has a sushi and weed restaurant as well as the world’s first ‘bud and breakfast.’ And did you hear about ‘wake and bake’ coffee?

Forbes reports that Angel has sunk more than $2 million into his marijuana startup.
