No aftercare plans were made with the assistance of the staff, and upon completion of the program residents are left with no way of directly following through with their treatment, particularly no way to seek further treatment or support long distance by telephone or internet because the staff is prohibited from working with residents for 1 year after the resident's release. While this may be an industry standard, the program really needs to provide residents with alternatives for aftercare with MH professionals who can stay in contact with the staff in order to assist the resident's transition back to regularly life.
