Addiction Treatment Services

1010 S Garfield Ave, Traverse City, Michigan, 49684
ATS is dedicated to supporting people who are struggling with chemical dependency issues. The drug and alcohol treatment center doesn’t focus on addiction as an illness, but instead regards each individual as a person with the strength, courage, and will to overcome their addiction and grow as a result. Residential treatment and sober living isn’t easy to live through, but ATS is committed to showing its clients that the rewards outweigh the obstacles.

Specialization

  • Residential Treatment

Residential treatment programs provide housing (food and meals) in addition to treatment for substance abuse. Some facilities offer only short-term residential treatment, some offer only long-term treatment and others offer both, ranging from a few days to many months, based on patient needs.
  • Individual Therapy

This term describes one-on-one therapy, in which a patient and trained counselor, social worker, psychologist or psychiatrist meets privately with a patient to discuss challenges related to lifestyle, work, family and romantic relationships that may have contributed to the development of an addiction.

  • Christopher Hindbaugh
    Christopher HindbaughExecutive Director
Hindbaugh has a vision that ATS can and should be the most innovative and creative substance abuse agency in the state. Since taking the helm at ATS, Hindbaugh has helped foster a culture of professionalism and an expectation of high quality services that is all too often lacking in the substance abuse field.

The have good group programs. They really don't help you transition back to normal when you get out. They helped my brother get clean and show him there is a better way to live.

They do a really good job supporting their patients and helping them get clean. They could do a little better at checking up on people who have left the program. Overall, they were very great and helped my sister get clean and stay clean.

I work in detox, not residential, so my experience is limited. However, I know they enact forward thinking. A downfall is that the facility consists of old houses.

A strength of the facility our caring for people-- our "Slogan," if you will is "HOPE HAPPENS HERE." However, there is not enough space... so many helpless people and we are trying so diligently to accommodate more people. It's an EXCEPTIONAL place for the clients AND the employees.
