Process Abuse Treatment
Not all addictions involve mood-altering chemicals. The term “process addiction” describes the unhealthy use of behaviors (including eating, gambling, sexual activity, shopping, internet use, etc.) that has spiraled out of control and into the realm of addiction.Outpatient

- Kirk Moberg, MD, PhDMedical DirectorDr. Moberg has practiced addiction medicine for 20 years and concurrently served as medical director of two addiction recovery centers from 2000 to 2010 in Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Moberg adds to IIAR's history of successfully treating the diseases of addiction with the incorporation of the latest evidenced-based research shown to reduce relapse and increase the probability of and length of recovery. Board certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine, he received his MS in Health Policy and Administration, and a PhD in Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Urbana-Champaign.
