Specialization

  • Academics
AIM House residents discover an abundance of academic opportunities in Boulder and the surrounding areas. For those pursuing post-high school education, the city is home to the University of Colorado, Front Range Community College, Naropa University, The Cooking School of the Rockies and several other respected trade schools. Young adults requiring remedial education, GED preparation or SAT review before reaching their goal of attending college also have a variety of options. In all cases, the AIM House team provides the support necessary for participants to succeed academically, providing tutoring and structured study sessions for each student according to his/her specific needs.
  • Internship Program
An alternative path to success for those who are ready for a business environment is our internship program which helps AIM participants acquire the real-world experience they'll need to succeed in their field of interest. Case in point: this website is the work of an AIM resident whose goal is to learn graphic and web design. To help him reach this objective, AIM staff arranged an internship with an elite Denver Agency, where he worked on this and similarly relevant projects. Other AIM participants have successfully interned at a variety of local businesses, radio stations, theaters and hospitals, gaining invaluable experience, skills and contacts along the way.

I was an AIM House Participant in the Spring of 2019. Not only did this program save my life, it gave me my life back after struggling with addiction for many years. This isn\'t just your average 12 step program. It targets the person as whole using practices from eastern and western methodologies. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. I would recommend this program to any young adult struggling with addiction, depression and anxiety. Their willingness to encourage you while still focusing on you achieving and maintaining your recovery makes it a top notch program. Of course, you have to want to achieve those goals in order to make them a reality but the staff\'s personal experience in addiction and recovery makes this program unique in Colorado.

I have been connected to AIM House in Boulder for near 20 years. It started when my partner\'s young 19 year old was having a host of issues with anxiety, some depression and occasionally smoking weed. He just could not get on track with emerging successfully in young adulthood. I recommended AIM House and to my partner and his son went there for about 6 months. I cannot say enough about the therapeutic support, mentoring and life skills they provided him and how quickly he was able to cope and find direction in his life. He entered college, got a part-time job and became involved in the young adult community here in Boulder. Over the years I have had the opportunity to recommend many young adults to AIM House and the outcomes for the participant and their families is all you could hope for. Great program. Joseph D.

AIM House is a careless, unorganized, and stress-provoking program. It is incredibly overpriced for the level of care administered, particularly in regard to therapeutic care. Essentially the only thing it is paying for, at $12,000 a month to start, is therapy and room and board. The laundry dryer was also broken and the van was constantly breaking down and had no seatbelt for a significant amount of time. \"Participants\" who are deemed to be struggling are asked to go on \"one-on-one\" trips and are often charged for the trip while still being charged for living at the house (even though they are not there during that time!). The only thing that gets any attention of the program directors is a parent threatening to remove their child from the program. The program was extremely neglectful, with some of the staff member\'s actions and disrespect towards the participants. I would highly advise against sending anyone to this \"rehabilitation\"- it is a corporation.

Aim house has some great ideas and people. And some not so great people who forget to treat the women there with respect....This program cost too much and is too important to have (unqualified) people working there. My daughter went through the program and is living well on her own. She received straight A's and is on the Dean's List...She learned a lot at Aim House and has continued to use their services for graduates.
