Specialization

  • Trauma Therapy & Mental Health
All Points North Lodge accepts clients who are struggling with mental health or trauma—with or without the presence of an addiction. Mental health and trauma therapy are offered at the residential, PHP, IOP, and OP levels. Even in the absence of addiction, unresolved trauma can be crippling. Whether it manifests as PTSD, anxiety, depression, attachment disorders, codependence, or some other diagnosis or dysfunction, there is hope for healing. The team at APN Lodge is dedicated to helping you confront past trauma, resolve it, and finally move forward with direction and fulfillment.
  • Substance Abuse & Dual Diagnosis
APN Lodge is about much more than symptom management. With a heavy trauma integration, drug and alcohol treatment at APN Lodge looks below the surface to examine the root cause of dysfunctional behaviors and patterns. Therapy modalities include CBT, DBT, group work, family-focused treatment, psychodrama, experiential work, inner child work, post induction therapy, and more. After extensive assessment, treatment plans are custom-curated for each unique client. Levels of care available include residential, PHP, IOP, and OP. Social detox is offered at the Lodge, and higher levels of detox can be coordinated through APN Lodge's partnership network.
  • Telehealth: Virtual IOP and Outpatient Sessions
Addiction treatment, mental health, and trauma therapy are now available remotely through APN Connection: All Points North Lodge's exclusive telehealth app. Address the heart of the issues, find professional support, and make serious progress from the comfort of your own home. We are accepting clients for virtual IOP addiction and mental health programs. Individual and group sessions are also available. For more information or to see what your insurance may cover, contact the team at APN Lodge today.
  • Custom-Curated Care
APN Lodge is committed to person-centered, custom-curated care. Every residential client gets a one-on-one psychiatric evaluation with our staff physician. We carry out a comprehensive and reliable battery of indicated evidenced-based tests, assessments, and interviews that thoroughly examine all aspects of a guest’s condition – psychologically, physically, and spiritually. A one-on-one interview allows us to assess the biopsychosocial status of each individual. Evaluations also help to assess the origins of substance abuse and any indication of a dual-diagnosis.
  • Family Involvement
At All Points North Lodge, we are intentional with clients and their families. If families played a role in the circumstances surrounding the problematic behaviors, families must now learn healthier roles that lead to healing. After all, when clients go home, they go home to family. Our family-focused treatment guide both clients and their families to a deeper understanding of the emotional consequences which accompany addiction, mental health, the recovery process, and finding a new normal.

It’s a beautiful facility, five stars there. One star for everything else, except for the food! Fine dining, room service, nice amenities, really great staff and decent treatment. But I have to drop this by so many stars due to the constant lack of communication between therapists, lack of known individual therapy sessions per week or ever changing, mix ups constantly With medication charts, no emdr, only “secret” accudetox needling, overwhelmed and understaffed nurses and medical team, confusing and lack of care psychiatry and only One time a week medical talk with actual dr that was a zoom call, no golf or tennis, and o Lordy the phone rules…. phone for business or not while we are there…? One guy there needed his phone for business, and the only way he could use it was a new rule all of a sudden where could pay $10,000 and then it was suddenly allowed. This was not the case for all people there. BIGGEST PERSONAL ISSUE: They claimed that my insurance was probably going to be denied so they didn’t bother submitting at all. With behavior health being so important these days I called my insurance company after my stay and they said that The facility should have submitted it. Now they are saying they are not even willing to try, or “back bill” it. It took almost 3 weeks to get this answer out of them after calling over and over emailing etc. and now it’s the end of the year and I feel like I’m screwed out of money I could have saved. They also promised to send the itemized bill that I could submit to my insurance numerous times, and I have yet to receive that months later, and I am simply expecting not too. Overall, it was a glamorous rehabilitation that was very comfortable, and I really love some of the treatments and therapists there, but it was over-priced and it’s overrated based on my experience.

I have waited nine months to write this review to give myself some time to consider how to adequately express myself and "cool off" from my absolutely disappointing experience. Unfortunately, my mind hasn't changed. PROGRAM- Is BEYOND DISORGANIZED. The right doesn't talk to the left so the staff had no idea what was going on. Everyday something on the schedule changed whether it was a group room we were supposed to meet in as opposed to the usual one, time change etc that we were not informed of. Every Thursday from 9-12 was "Dr. Day." You were required to sit around for 3 hours doing absolutely nothing and wait to see if you were on the schedule to see Doctor Schwartz or Kris.. Most people waited for 3 hours for counselors to say "Doctor Schwartz didn't need to see you today"? Hello? Is it beyond the RA's scope of work to possibly print out a schedule for each person and slip it under their door at night? 5 female RA's 8 women at the time. Caron treatment centers managed to do this with 200+ clients attending There were never any RA's in the office; they would be MIA for their six hour shift. ONE job- hand out meds. People missed their meds all the time, meds were mixed up in their KIPU system and meds weren't being filled on time even with a week notice we were almost out. There were inappropriate male RA's spreading rumors about women having STD's and another smoking a the JUUL INSIDE (which is prohibited) with the girls telling us we should try psychedelic drugs? RA's aren't paying attention so men and women were having sex in hallways (which, I could care less)! But they were more concerned about finding "contraband" (snacks) in the rooms. Therapists aren't assigned to the proper clients. None of the female therapists specialized in substance abuse and are inexperienced. Laura was my therapist and sweet as could be but a complete rookie. I can count on two hands the amount of times I saw her in three months. It was almost like she was in training and I was definitely not the right person to be used to bring her up to speed. It was precious time and money of mine that they were wasting. Lana tries to instill the fear of God in you. Her "tough love" tactic is to break her clients down and damage them beyond repair. I struggled to stay in my lane watching her demoralize her clients in group but at the same time telling her it was enough. I had the pleasure of working with Katie for the last two weeks of the three months I attended. Out of all of them, she in my opinion was the best. There is no confidentiality! Don't think HIPAA will protect you! No No. MOVING ON: Women need to take a pregnancy test when they first arrive. They administered two to me that both came back positive. There was absolutely no way I was pregnant but they insisted I was. Dr. Schwartz told me I need to "handle it" which was appalling . I insisted on a blood test and 3 days later, it came back negative. Already being in a fragile state, the added anxiety completely broke me. He also poked at my stomach commenting on my ascites one day (I had just been diagnosed with cirrhosis) which was mortifying. Part of my decision to attend APN were due to some of the privileges such as having our phones. I needed this because I was indeed working and they assured me it wasn't a problem as long as I left it in my room. After I was taken into "general population" after quarantine they changed their mind . THE FOOD- OMG! The food is NOT fresh or healthy. 90% of the time, people who prefer to eat healthy were limited to the salad bar. Sample menu- Fried fish, fried chicken, fried shrimp and French fries for lunch and burgers and onion rings for dinner. Taco bar for lunch Chinese buffet for Saturday dinner and lunch the next day is left overs that they try to pull off as if it is a completely different meal by dumping it in lettuce wraps. I had never seen anybody f*** up chicken so bad over and over again. Plated meals at dinner were a disaster. The cafeteria/ buffet style is completely unacceptable for a "luxury rehab". They have a "state of the art" juice bar that nobody attended to until about a month into my stay. Coffee wasn't brewed in the morning, water and ice tea dispensers were never filled, utensils weren't available, and there were NEVER any condiments on the table that were full. After 10 am, water, coffee and tea were all that were allowed and coffee and tea were pulled at noon. So.. water.. thats it. Never fresh, shit floating in the dispensers all the time. We weren't allowed to get ice for our water from the ice-maker. There is a kitchenette in both wings with a community refrigerator. No one was allowed to use it? YOU HAD TO PAY TO EAT IN YOUR ROOM! You heard me! If you were having a bad day and simply wanted to be alone, they wouldn't allow you to plate your own food from the school cafeteria and bring it back. The ice-maker on the refrigerator was broken. They confiscated snacks I had ordered online because there was "too much sodium" but "here have a bag of pretzels"? Snack Baskets were supposed to be filled up twice a week and they were filled once every two weeks. WAIT THERE IS MORE!! TV's never worked and there was hardly any Wi-Fi. No COMCAST or Netflix as advertised on the website. No one ever received their mail. I received 5 cards at one point dated a month and a half back. Keys never worked and were always being reprogrammed. They spent money on bullshit such as a Hyperbaric Chamber that was used by a hockey player at the time who didn't even go to APN, landscaping etc to make the outside "pretty". The indoor pool was broken the entire three months I was there. Their excuse for every activity that was cancelled (and every activity was cancelled) was COVID even though everyone was rapid tested when they arrived and every-time they went off campus and came back and staff tested daily. The art room was never stocked. They started buying minimal supplies two months into my stay. Bottom line is NO activities they advertised were available. A sewer line had been broken the entire time I was there and the place reeked like shit. Clients had access to the common area thermostats so heat would be bumped up or AC would blast and you would either be boiled or frozen out of the group rooms. Cookie Cutter assignments that you can google such as "life story", "timeline" "trauma egg", etc. I was "called out in DBT" with Eva like I was in elementary school for not completing my assignment. Called out as in "let's make a horseshoe group around her and figure focus the entire two hours on why Devon didn't complete her assignment." I could go on. I give this place a big F***ing ZERO. The owner lives in NY and popped in two or three times to let us know he existed. The only thing I could possibly be grateful for is I am a year sober and the only attribute I give them to that is it's a nightmare facility that I never want to return to.

My therapist Lana on my second session with her broke my ROI and HIPPA laws. We spent the following weeks trying to repair her screw up. She gave me “ homework “ to do in my room but we never got to it because her HIPPA violation was still to be repaired. Dr. Schwartz gave me the wrong medication for 6 days and I didn’t sleep because of it for that period. I had to call outside Dr for help. I was then taken from Dr Schwartz care and given to Dr. Vacaro who promised me the world for all the screw ups then disappeared and ignored me. Then my case manager proceeded to call my employer and tell them my entire case again against my ROI. Leading me to miss 3 weeks of work after I left APN. The scheduling was complete mayhem. And to be honest the entire experience set me back far worse than I was when I went in and now I’m trying to catch up on my own doubling up on therapy. I never received as much as an apology. Lana completely ignored any requests to make up for lost time due to her” busy schedule “. All they said was “ your insurance will cover more time if you want to stay”. No thank you!! My classes were interrupted by now show therapists and I was told to “ go color in the art room instead”. Many times classes were canceled too. You decide

The environment at the lodge is comfortable and safe to encourage the healing process. There are the comforts of home in AMAZING rooms, beautifully prepared meals, activities and adventures, and opportunity for everyone to use the tools being taught in therapy within the recovery community.
