Facility Information

Specialization
  • Dual Diagnosis/Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment

These two terms describe a person who is not only addicted to drugs or alcohol, but also has a mental or emotional illness, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. Facilities that treat patients with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring disorders provide psychiatric treatment in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.
  • Individualized Treatment

Some facilities have an addiction treatment protocol that all patients or clients are expected to follow, while others customize or individualize treatment based on a person’s unique needs and circumstances. Factors that may affect treatment decisions include age, lifestyle, medical conditions, type of drug, religious beliefs, etc.
  • Holistic Therapy

Facilities that offer “holistic therapy” see and treat patients in the context of their entire lives and health status. They treat the “whole person,” not just the addiction.
Financial Details
  • For Connecticut Residents Only - ARC is Private Pay, in network with Anthem BCBS and affiliates, and out of network with other major private insurers. Unfortunately at this time, we accept NO MEDICAID/HUSKY. We do work with medical lending companies that provide financing depending on credit.

Aware Recovery Care has a diverse group of people that work there as a team, it also has may spinning wheels that all come together to help each client individually. No client is has the same treatment, each client is different, and therefore this program is catered to them, and their families. The Aware program is a 52 week program where we as a team work with the client, and their families, because we know addiction not only effects the client, but the entire house hold. We work around out clients schedule, so they are able to work, and not lose time from their jobs. Also we as a team will help introduce clients, and families to a support system of clean and sober people, so when we do walk away, our clients, and their families have a support system. There is a entire network of people in recovery that people just aren't aware of, not just NA, or AA. Not every client is comfortable with NA, or AA, so we find something for everyone, someone, or something that they connect to, or relate to. There are many paths to recovery, and we explore all paths in order to help our clients, and families. Private pay, and Anthem are paying methods at this time, so we are unable to reach all the people in need of our services. Addiction has touched so many of us, and sometimes people feel as though they are being judged, but at Aware Recovery Care, there is no judgment.

My experience with Aware Recovery was dismal. I found them to be unsupportive and unprofessional and often made recommendations and/or took actions that were not in the best interest of me or my family. The first nurse assigned to me outright lied about contacting me after a discussion with my husband. When I required inpatient treatment they recommended that I go to California even though there are 2 highly regarded treatment centers in CT. In addition to the financial burden this caused it also left significant issues it also caused major issues to go unaddressed due to my being out of state. My clinician failed to show up for my session during a stressful holiday week. That was the last straw for me. I have many more examples. If your motivated and want to stay sober get involved with AA. Don't waste your time with Aware. The positive reviews on the site sound so fake and don't reflect at all my experience.
Official Facility Response:

Thank you for your detailed and specific response. It is extremely helpful to read your review so that I can take your experience back to the clinical team to address your concerns. At Aware Recovery Care, thankfully, we are in a constant state of growth and development as a result of the hard work and desire to do the right thing. As someone who was one of the first clients at Aware after going to over a dozen treatment centers personally, I know what the magic is and how we differ from a more traditional offering. I am sorry that you had a negative experience. As you so eloquently wrote in your review, not any single experience can possibly represent everyone's opinion, nor can it represent absolute reality. Without both positive and negative feedback, like in any other arena in life, we are not able to learn or develop. I hope that you have found your path to recovery, health, and wellness. Our paths are as unique as all of us as individuals are. Thanks again for sharing your review and rest assured that we will take it to heart.

If you want only the best for you or a loved one, Aware is your way to go. As a client and hopefully, eventually a staff team member, I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for the amazing staff and quality of treatment. After an impatient program, they helped me get back into school after being expelled, along wth graduating. They helped teach me to do everything I couldn't do for myself while I was using. I have recommended Aware to many friends and loved ones and I will continue to do so.

As once a client and now a staff member, I had the unique experience of being involved with Aware Recovery Care since the beginning. What Aware has grown into is something remarkable and amazing. Aware Recovery Care ( ARC ) is now in 2 different states ( CT and New Hampshire ), with plans to expand across the USA. ARC treats clients in their own homes and surrounding communities during the first year, proven to be the most critical time period for folks to establish a continuum of care that allows for long term recovery, peace, and happiness. Aware's program is the most realistic and logical treatment program that I have ever had pleasure of attending and working for. What we do is not rocket science, but we use every tool necessary to maximize clinical outcomes for our clients while utilizing the latest evidence based treatments while individualizing each and every one of our treatment plans.
