I can't say one bad thing about Axis Residential. I am sober today because of them. The facility was great, the counselors were great, the food was ... great. I didn't want to leave when my time was up, actually. I've been sober 2 1/2 years now. Maintaining sobriety every day is a choice but I wouldn't be sober today without them, I'm sure of it. Having not gone there, I would be either homeless or dead! I am sober today because of this place - I would not trade my stay there for anything but I have to wonder what costs $1000/day. That seems a bit excessive! I was desperate, I looked on line for a place away from home (I thought it was best to get out of Phoenix, just away, for treatment) and when I talked to them on the phone they gave me hope, it felt good, and they could get me in right away! It was hands down the most amazing experience I have ever had. That place saved my life and they did it with the best staff. I actually went to Axis West this past December and was there till the new year...I have a little over six months of sobriety, I plan on going back to school to continue the rest of the classes I need to get my bachelors...I live in an amazing sober living, I have mended so many of the relationships I thought I had destroyed through my addiction, I can actually pay my bills on time, and for the first time in my entire life I can honestly and truly say that I am happy...I want to give back what was so freely given to me by the staff of AW that helped give me the strength to achieve this beautiful life I have now... I would love to show someone else that (sobriety) does work and that I was once in their spot and through hard work and willingness to do what I had to do to stay sober, that I have been given this amazing, beautiful, and free life I get to wake up to and live in every morning...I regained confidence within myself, the hope to live a different life, and self-forgiveness for all the things I had done in my addiction....truly saved my life because without her at the beginning, I highly doubt I could have made it.

The successful rehabs and sober livings are not vacation style resorts. Changing is difficult and requires discipline. Most rehabs get people sober but most people don't stay sober afterwards. It's become more expensive, less disciplined and less confrontational. Unlike most rehabs/sober livings, Axis sober living forced discipline onto people to make them change.

I work at Axis. And while the objective is to help the clients, The manager here in Indian Wells only seems to care about the company...The primary atmosphere between staff is aggressive. They seem to be looking out for their own positions and out truly makes it a difficult place to work with. There is two exceptions to this and they are one male and one female staff member. The woman brightens an otherwise gloomy job. The guy has a genuine concern for the success of the clients. It seems there is more politics here then Washington DC.

What a relaxing and peaceful experience. The staff was very considerate and compassionate. The chef was talented and creative for all food types and allergies and the treatment program was professional and clinical with real tools to use when I got home and into my own home based 12 step program. I recommend it to those in need of comfort and support, compassion and recovery.
