Beachway Therapy Center

1700 N Dixie Hwy , West Palm Beach, Florida, 33407
Beachway Therapy Center, as a dual diagnosis facility, believes that in order to treat addiction successfully each person must address their own deeper emotional issues. By providing a comfortable and serene space our highly trained therapists and medical staff are fully equipped to design a treatment plan based on each client’s individual needs. We believe in meeting the addict where they are, recognizing their unique circumstances and providing the support and therapy necessary to lay the groundwork for a lasting, sustainable recovery. Each client, upon arrival, will be assigned a primary therapist who will work carefully to customize a treatment plan that will serve as the foundation of their recovery. Through counseling, group therapy, and individual therapy sessions, each client will learn the basic tools to regain control of their lives. We treat each and every client with respect and compassion so that they can learn to heal and grow.

Specialization

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a highly specific, research-validated form of therapy that can help people overcome traumatic stress, anxiety and depression. With EMDR, a trained practitioner uses bilateral stimulation, eye movement and touch to stimulate parts of the brain as a patient recounts certain experiences and memories as a way to more thoroughly process uncomfortable, painful feelings.
  • Dual Diagnosis/Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment

These two terms describe a person who is not only addicted to drugs or alcohol, but also has a mental or emotional illness, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. Facilities that treat patients with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring disorders provide psychiatric treatment in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.

Funny how I shared my horrible experience on this forum last week and was not posted. DECEPTIVE practices. I came in with No drug or substance abuse issues, left on a bunch of meds feeling way worse than I did when I got there. Treated like an inmate. No beach, no horses, no phone, literally kicked to curb!

My experience with Beachway was TERRIBLE. I sought out a treatment facility for Depression and anxiety. I was looking for a place to regroup, relax, enjoy the beach, sun, massages and one on one therapy. I was only able to commit for 2 weeks due to personal responsibilities at home. I have unique medical needs. I never had any substance abuse or alcohol issues. I was extremely stressed. So finally after much research and being contacted on numerous occasions by admissions staff, I decided to go. I spoke with admission staff regarding my individual needs and expectations. They were willing to accommodate my needs. Upon admission I was told that nothing we agreed to was going to be in effect! My phone was taken( it was agreed that I would be able to use daily) I was given a urine test, strip searched, and my personal belongings were searched and confiscated! Then I was informed that I was going to be in DETOX status from my perscription sleeping medication. NOT THE REASON IS WAS THERE. I should have ran for the door. The next 5 days was total hell. To detox me from my med. They gave me a cocktail of drugs. More medications than I have taken in my life. To include Seroquil,Valium, Trazodone, Vistril to name a few. I was a zombie. I spoke to everyone regarding the way I was feeling. No one cared. I requested my phone to make arrangements to go home. Nope. I had to wait to talk to my "therapist" to get permission, knowing that she was not there that day. I just wanted answers and for people to be held accountable for their actions. I asked about my out of pocket reimbursement. The response was "Idon't know." I was given 30 min to gather my belongings and get off property. No paperwork, no offer of a ride, no nothing but a bag of rx drugs and literally kicked to the curb. Absolutely disgusting. Deceptive practices x100. I will be filing charges.

Great facility with a beautiful campus. Stayed for almost 60 days. By far the best therapy that I\'ve had and I\'ve been to a few treatment cetners over the years. I\'ve recommended this place to a few people and even had a close friend go here. Unfortunately he wasn\'t able to stay for the duration but he I guess he\'s not ready. Alumni is very good and does a great job of creating a sense of community and support. Been attending alumni meetings here for over a year and now online.

Beachway Therapists are Terrible, They gave me 24 hours to leave with no plan of action because I refused their recommendations to go to anouther facility which is not why I was there, i was there for addiction and childhood trauma first and foremost now I'm home and I don't know what will happen to me. They are so unprofessional in the way they talk to people
