High Watch Recovery Center

62 Carter Road, Kent, Connecticut, 06757
High Watch Recovery Center is dedicated to seeing the disease of addiction go into remission for each individual who passes through our door. We are committed to providing compassionate care as we integrate the latest breakthroughs in addiction medicine alongside the spiritual teachings of AA’s 12 Steps to give all patients the tools and foundation to live sober after leaving High Watch.

Facility Highlights

  • The world's first 12-step treatment center with a culture of compassionate care, dignity and respect.
  • Each client is assigned an experienced 12-Step coach to work with in a one on one setting.
  • Every resident receives an individual bio-psycho-social evaluation.

Specialization

  • Holistic Therapy

Facilities that offer “holistic therapy” see and treat patients in the context of their entire lives and health status. They treat the “whole person,” not just the addiction.
  • Family Program

Research shows that the odds of successful, sustained recovery from addiction are far higher when family members and loved ones are involved in treatment. Drug and alcohol addiction often have genetic roots, whether related to substance abuse, mental illness or both. Family dynamics also play a role and, often, family members are the first to realize a loved one has developed an addiction. Also, it’s important for family members to understand and embrace the lifestyle changes that are required to sustain recovery.

Financially Unethical DO NOT GO THERE! Great step coaches but overpriced at $82,000. Yes, that’s what they billed. They overcharged my upfront payment. Minimal clinical treatment (1- 1 1/2 hours per week) so DO NOT go there if you are expecting treatment for dual diagnosis. Beware of aftercare- they lie about cost and do nothing to reimburse you for their misinformation. I was told that my insurance “covered all of the IOP”. When they finally refunded me for the overpayment on residential (charged me $3700, actual charge was $350!) they kept an additional $1000 for IOP co-pays!!! Ridiculous! They lied. I called for several months and they were “looking into it and would call me back”. Never called back- I had to call them z in the end they just said “sorry, nothing we can do” and kept my money. Liars and unethical- very unsober behavior!

Financially Unethical This is an overpriced step study. The step coaches are great, but not worth the $82,000 they billed my insurance company. NOT a dual diagnosis treatment center as you only get 1 to 1 1/2 hours with a licensed therapist weekly. Groups were generally run by recently graduated “guests”. The one that was supposed to be clinicians, was a different on every session due to…. “many reasons”, so no real progress there. And, they lie about the cost of IOPs and then later charge your credit card about $1000 and refuse to stand behind their word. Sooo unethical and disappointing.

High Watch Recovery Center changed my life forever. The facility is beautiful. Looks like a college campus. The program was very rigorous and intense. Lots of support and clinical programming. Medical support was available 24/7. The aftercare planning began the first week of my stay and assisted me with developing supports/contacts in my hometown. I was able to participate in their IOP program that also helped me with transitioning back into life. The alumni services are tremendous and reinforces that HW will always be there to support your sobriety. Couldn’t have turned my life around without AA and HW. Thank you.
