Lucida Treatment Center provides residential care for people with substance abuse and co-occurring or primary mental health disorders. Comfortable accommodations and beautiful views of Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway allow clients to focus on recovery in a private setting. The center offers biopsychosocial assessments, expert psychiatric care, individualized treatment programs, and both 12-step and non-12 step support to ensure that clients learn sustainable recovery methods that work for them.

Addiction Treatment
Known for its evidence-based, individualized approach to treatment, clients in Lucida’s addiction program receive highly personalized care in a supportive environment. Underlying issues like trauma and mental health disorders are addressed and clients learn skills needed to succeed in recovery.Mental Health Treatment
In addition to a substance abuse program, Lucida offers a gender-separate (with some mixed-gender groups) mental health treatment program for people struggling with issues like depression, bipolar disorder and trauma. Clients receive comprehensive psychiatric care and engage in therapies that promote physical, spiritual and emotional healing.

- James Snow, LMHC, CAPClinical DirectorJim has over 30 years of experience helping people struggling with mental illness and substance abuse. He is a licensed mental health counselor, EMDR practitioner and certified addictions professional. A seasoned behavioral health specialist, Jim’s past roles in the field include executive director, adjunct professor, clinical director, program director and therapist. He earned a master’s degree in counselor education from Pennsylvania State University.
- Dr. Stephen HeelanPrimary TherapistA licensed mental health counselor in Florida and New York, Dr. Heelan is a board certified professional counselor. With over 15 years of clinical experience in mental health and addiction he is well versed in treating a diverse, dually diagnosed population. Dr. Heelan earned a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D) with a focus on neuropsychology from Carlos Albizu University. He also earned a doctoral degree in clinical sexology from the American Academy of Clinical Sexology at Maimonides University. Dr. Heelan is a member of the American Psychotherapy Association, American Board of Sexology, Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers, The American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, and South Florida’s Association of Christian Counselors.
