Located along Florida’s beautiful Intracoastal Waterway, Lucida’s Mental Health Treatment Program provides luxury residential treatment for men and women struggling with primary mental health disorders including depression, anxiety and trauma. Residences and most therapy groups are gender-separate so clients can feel comfortable sharing about difficult topics. Women and men are given the opportunity to adopt and practice the recovery methods that truly work for them in a safe, supportive and comfortable environment.

Addiction Treatment
In addition to a mental health program, Lucida offers specialized treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Clients address the underlying issues that fuel addictions like trauma. They also learn healthy coping skills to support long-term recovery.Mental Health Treatment
In addition to a substance abuse program, Lucida offers a gender-separate (with some mixed-gender groups) mental health treatment program for people struggling with issues like depression, bipolar disorder and trauma. Clients receive comprehensive psychiatric care and engage in therapies that promote physical, spiritual and emotional healing.

- James Snow, LMHC, CAPClinical DirectorJim has over 30 years of experience helping people struggling with mental illness and substance abuse. He is a licensed mental health counselor, EMDR practitioner and certified addictions professional. A seasoned behavioral health specialist, Jim’s past roles in the field include executive director, adjunct professor, clinical director, program director and therapist. He earned a master’s degree in counselor education from Pennsylvania State University.
- Dr. Stephen HeelanPrimary TherapistA licensed mental health counselor in Florida and New York, Dr. Heelan is a board certified professional counselor. With over 15 years of clinical experience in mental health and addiction he is well versed in treating a diverse, dually diagnosed population. Dr. Heelan earned a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D) with a focus on neuropsychology from Carlos Albizu University. He also earned a doctoral degree in clinical sexology from the American Academy of Clinical Sexology at Maimonides University. Dr. Heelan is a member of the American Psychotherapy Association, American Board of Sexology, Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers, The American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, and South Florida’s Association of Christian Counselors.
