Individual Therapy
This term describes one-on-one therapy, in which a patient and trained counselor, social worker, psychologist or psychiatrist meets privately with a patient to discuss challenges related to lifestyle, work, family and romantic relationships that may have contributed to the development of an addiction.Residential Treatment
Residential treatment programs provide housing (food and meals) in addition to treatment for substance abuse. Some facilities offer only short-term residential treatment, some offer only long-term treatment and others offer both, ranging from a few days to many months, based on patient needs.

Meet the Staff
- Juli Kukulka, CAS-IIProgram CoordinatorJuli has been working in the substance abuse field for more than 16 years. She began as a counselor providing direct services to women in need. After five years she advanced to becoming the Director of Operations for La Vista Recovery Center and held that position for more than 10 years. She received her CAS II credential and is a graduate of Mt. San Jacinto College where she received her Associates Degree in Alcohol Drug Studies. Currently, Juli supervises the San Jacinto outpatient offices of MFI as well as Program Coordinator of the LaVista location of MFI Recovery Center.
- Marlene Personett, CADC-II, CACCSProgram CoordinatorMarlene has worked with MFI for a total of 8 years. Initially she worked as a certified substance abuse counselor at our women's programs. She left the agency to teach the Alcohol and Drug Counseling Course at Intercoast Colleges and ultimately became the director of the West Covina campus. MFI was fortunate enough to have her return in a management position overseeing our men's residential treatment program in Woodcrest. She has since taken on the grand task of Program Coordinator of the Riverside Outpatient programs and gender specific residential programs in Riverside. Marlene is credentialed as a CADC-II and CACCS (California Certified Clinical Supervisor).
