ABOUT OCEAN BREEZE RECOVERY

A member of the nationwide Delphi Behavioral Health Group, Ocean Breeze Recovery (OBR) offers individuals and families a full range of treatment services, including medical detoxification, residential treatment, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), and intensive outpatient program (IOP). Located in Pompano Beach, in south Florida, walking distance to the beach, OBR specializes in treating clients with co-occurring mental health disorders, and also operates a Christian-based track and alumni support program.

Arete Recovery, part of the Delphi network, provides the center’s detox capabilities and residential care. In the state of Florida, OBR is among 29.2 percent of substance abuse treatment facilities that offer non-hospital residential care and among 10.9 percent with a non-hospital, residential detox program.

TREATMENT & ASSESSMENT

At OBR, clients start the admissions process with a comprehensive evaluation, the findings of which help determine their level of treatment and form the basis for their personalized care plan.

Those who require highly structured services in a 24-hour supervised setting may be best suited for residential treatment. Inpatients benefit from a curriculum of holistic options, such as yoga, meditation, and acupuncture, as well as 12-step work, and individual and group therapy sessions that focus on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), and other evidence-based practices. Residents also learn to develop practical, everyday life skills from budgeting to time management.

Clients often transition to the PHP, which is the next rung of treatment and involves a short-term stay. Participants may live in on-campus facilities while going through the PHP. The IOP offers clients the same comprehensive treatment options as OBR’s other programs, including several meetings and therapy sessions each week and an added emphasis on relapse prevention. OBR also offers treatment in gender-separate settings, dual-diagnosis treatment, as well as a program that combines traditional therapy practices with Christ-based teachings.

Of note, OBR is among 24.6 percent of substance abuse treatment facilities in the state with a PHP, 43 percent with an IOP, and 53.6 percent with specially tailored programs for clients with co-occurring disorders.

It's a shame to hear how much this treatment center has fallen apart since Kim and Pete Cogan sold it because at that point it was the best treatment center I had ever been to in my entire life and I've been to over 20 treatment centers some being $50,000 a month. I hope the rating isn't just because of all the good reviews from before that the new owners got to keep because it does not sound like they're keeping it to the standards that Kim and Pete were

Met a lot of nice people and counselors who supported me. However, there was too much vaping and smoking, and cigarettes were incentivized. I have been free of cigarettes for eighteen years, and then picked them up again because of this place. I'm now struggling to quit. They promised a lot during the sales pitch that didn't come to fruition. It would have been nice to have been chosen for the EMDR treatment, but I think that because I was self pay, they saved it for the clients with bigger reserves of insurance dollars. The psychiatrist dropped the ball with me, as he kept me on a medication that was actually causing tardive dyskinesia and didn't meet with me before my discharge. I feel that they need to update their medical model beyond just the 12 steps and getting a sponsor. These things are helpful but they are no substitute for real medical treatment. Medications at the residence were clumsily distributed by BHTs, bless their hearts. The residence is also a half hour drive away from the facility, and it is surrounded by two rat infested abandoned buildings.

This facility is super sketchy. Had a friend that went there, she described it as feeling held hostage! If you leave against medical advice, they hold your stuff for 72 hours. Even your personal belongings, cell phone, credit cards etc. They do not involve family, you are allowed 2 min phone calls to family here or there. Living area is horribly dirty for a facility. My friend who went her daughter was in medical condition and her husband had called 3 times, they didn't relay the message to her at all. I myself have been to many treatment facilities and never have I ever experience something like this. Wouldn't recommend to anyone, if needing treatment, DO YOUR RESEARCH!

Obr horrible

Obr go somewhere else, all they care about is ur insurance, lots of roaches, little spiders, nasty beds, alot of smoking, vaping,
