Caring and understanding counseling. (That's about it). The staff acted as most hourly paid workers would-- rude, short. There is no way the food could be up to health code. I stayed nearly the whole month of February and spent at LEAST 6-7 nights with a broken heater. (Not that the staff actually cared) The only thing I got out of this was the quality counseling. The facility, food, and staff are the reason I would NEVER recommend the Phoenix House. You could not pay me enough to send my child to the Phoenix House. It's been a couple months since I've stayed, but I hope they've made some changes.

Phoenix House helped me, but I wish I would have been aware of other programs out there before making my decision to go to phoenix house. They were great people, but really lacked variety of treatment services. Other than 12 step meetings and book studies, there was not much more to learn from. Staff were helpful people, affordable.

the treatment seemed very insurance driven & when insurance stopped paying, he was discharged without adequate plan for continued recovery

The groups were unproductive and the staff didnt take it serious at all. The counselors are rude and dont care, the groups arent taken seriously and nothing serious or productive is ever said in them, everyone fights and the safety of the clients is not considered.
