Specialization

  • Individual Therapy

This term describes one-on-one therapy, in which a patient and trained counselor, social worker, psychologist or psychiatrist meets privately with a patient to discuss challenges related to lifestyle, work, family and romantic relationships that may have contributed to the development of an addiction.
  • 12-Step

The term “12 Step Program” describes a way to recover from addiction that is based on the model developed by Alcoholics Anonymous. Many drug and alcohol treatment centers base their treatment on 12 steps – the first three of which are situational, the next four addressing the practical issues created by the addiction, followed by two steps focused on making amends for hurting others. Steps 10 and 11 involve a deeper examination of the previous steps and the final step is focused on helping others avoid and recover from addiction.

Choosing Rock Crest sober living at Pocono Mountain Recovery Center was the best decision I made after completing rehab at Huntington Creek. Learning how to live after the drinking ceased is vital to maintaining sobriety. The staff at PMRC is committed to the welfare of the client. They made sure before I was discharged that I had a sponsor and a support group. They have reached out to me numerous times to check on my welfare. I was ready to do the work and Pocono Mountain Recovery Center was there to give me the tools to live a sober fulfilling life. I\'m forever grateful for their dedication.

For the negative reviews, YOU arent in a country club for god sakes. You get what you put into it, you dont magically get cured here or anywhere. This is a starting point that prepares you to recover with 12 step programs on the outside. The groups are great, techs are awesome, nurses compassionate, food and chef Cornell above and beyond. If you have been to multiple rehabs you lost your right to criticize right there because that tells me something. You arent listening or following aftercare and 90 in 90. I will pray for you. Kerry, Gwen Jane and others are fabulous at what they do, the groups are great. I only wish I wish that I couldve taken Kerry back with me for therapy, what an awesome woman I love her. Techs Kenny, Patty, EJ and all are amazing. What a great place to begin or rebuild your foundation. The woman who said PMRC failed her friend..WOW! We are adults take personal responsibility, she failed to follow suggestions she drank because she didnt and chose to drink. It is up to the individual after we leave any rehab or detox to follow suggestions, the counselors here are excellent as well as their program. Many people arent ready or done. There is no proven way to MAKE an addict or alcoholic abstain from alcohol or drugs. However, ones best bet is to detox, participate in rehab and attend daily meetings in a 12 step program (at least 90 meetings in 90 days), have a sponsor, develop a support group, write the steps. If this seems like a lot imagine how much work your friend has put into hiding the alcohol, getting the alcoh ol andtrying to hide her drunken behavior. Also we werent only using , copping, buying substances at only Club Med. What a sense of entitlement people can have. Focus back on myself. I LOVE PMRC, my needs were met. So thank you PMRC and staff, I have a whole life back . Thank you Kerry, Gwen, Jane, Patty, Kenny, EJ and nursing staff and all techs. Sorry if I left anyone out, you are the heart of PMRC and even though I had 15 years of true recovery and knew what to do I needed PMRC and am grateful even for the really hard physical (detox) and emotional days. I was safe, taken care of and allowed to build a new foundation. All I can suggest is never miss a group you could be missing exactly what you need to hear, be it a reminder you've forgotten or a whole new idea. <3

My very dear friend attended this center Nov 2019 and was discharged mid December. I visited her at the center and was fairly impressed. BUT The final effectiveness is sobriety. She was home 24 hours and spent the next three days drunk. This doesn't speak well for the program.

I would not recommend PMRC for anyone who is serious about recovery. They are very happy to take your money and are all pie in the sky at the beginning but as soon as it gets rough they fold. You should seriously rethink your career.

Place is a joke. No real clinicians , Dr never sees you. Staff completely ignores it all. I would not recommend this place at all especially if you want to get clean and sober.
