Specialization
12-Step
The term “12 Step Program” describes a way to recover from addiction that is based on the model developed by Alcoholics Anonymous. Many drug and alcohol treatment centers base their treatment on 12 steps – the first three of which are situational, the next four addressing the practical issues created by the addiction, followed by two steps focused on making amends for hurting others. Steps 10 and 11 involve a deeper examination of the previous steps and the final step is focused on helping others avoid and recover from addiction.Client & Family Support Groups
Group therapy is a vital component of addiction recovery treatment, considered as important and effective (sometimes even more so) than individual therapy. Benefits include reducing isolation and loneliness and providing the opportunity to learn from others in recovery. In the addiction setting, group therapy is run by trained professionals who guide participants toward a shared goal of recovery.

Meet the Staff
- Kevin DeasyStaffKevin Deasy has been working with alcoholics and addicts since 1982. Kevin is a very strong leader and a great showcase of the gifts that long term sobriety can bring. He has been involved in 12 step recovery for almost 40 years and has been sober for 31 years. Kevin worked for several treatment centers in the New York tri-state area in the 1980s and 1990s. Kevin has had to deal with addiction in his own family including his son and provides direction, education, and insight for family recovery. Kevin’s belief is that a 12-step program is vital for an individual to obtain long term recovery, and, as a result of his own experiences, has created a safe environment at Seaside House that teaches the residents not just how to get sober, but how to stay sober. Kevin is an avid golfer as well as loves to hike, bike, fish, and ride ATVs.
