- Process Abuse TreatmentNot all addictions involve mood-altering chemicals. The term “process addiction” describes the unhealthy use of behaviors (including eating, gambling, sexual activity, shopping, internet use, etc.) that has spiraled out of control and into the realm of addiction.
- DetoxThough not all rehab facilities offer “medical detoxification,” all people with an addiction to drugs or alcohol will experience intense physical and emotional changes and discomfort as their bodies react to withdrawal of the addictive substance. Many people use the term “detox” to refer to the period of time (ranging from a few days to a week) when the body is reacting to an addict’s decision to stop using.

When my family convinced me to get help for my addiction, I didn\'t know where to go or who to turn to. My sister picked Sequoia Recovery for me and I was skeptic at first because I had to leave home but I\'m glad I went here. When I got there the staff was very welcoming. I didn\'t know what to expect but my counselor and therapist sat with me and together we put together a plan specifically for me. Yeah it was tough at first but in reality by the 2nd week of treatment I was really focused and ready to get clean. I would recommend this place.
