Thank goodness I’m still sober, but it’s been a huge struggle. Silvermist is fine, but there is a huge discord between staff who care and have struggled themselves and management. Silvermist is a money machine. I saw dear friends get kicked out because they couldn’t pay anymore and I’m texting them, they relapsed after dropping thousands and trying so hard. My parents paid $10 grand for me to go. I was told after 26 days, out of the blue, “you’re being discharged tomorrow”. The good staff that cared was honest and said, “you aren’t ready”. Which was true. All of my 15+ friends that went here relapsed but one in the two months since going. It’s a money machine. Beautiful, great food, great atmosphere. But don’t pay extra to go here. Since leaving I’ve done a lot of reading. Apparently accommodations don’t equal sobriety. Studies say other (cheap) places have been equally effective if not more than this one. Don’t waste your money.

Son attended. They required a substantial downpayment up front that they promised would be reimbursed if he left early, which he did. After 10 weeks we are still trying to get the reimbursement and only get the run around. Also a number of the promised services were not available because "at the time we are understaffed." What they did provide seemed good, they had some good staff. But their administration seems different and intent on ripping us off. This place is not cheap and they should have better administrative service. Yeah the food id good and the location nice. But the promise and hype is more than the delivery and cost.

Extremely expensive yet highly ineffective. I noticed they don't publish their success rate. My experience was full of incompetent coddling, mixed with good food.

Says max 14 clients and are proud of a 1:4 staff to client ratio....which means at any given time you only have like 3 total staff members ???

Silvermist was a wonderful experience. It was a very small community with only 14 people which allowed you to get great counseling as well as great group settings. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful in every aspect. The amentities were unbelievable with a personal chef, Outdoor pool and volleyball court, indoor movie theater and pool table. They took you to an outside meeting every night. Yoga, acupunture, and message therapy were also part of the program. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and more importantly a loved one!
