Dual Diagnosis
It is not uncommon for a client to be seeking treatment for chemical dependency and also be struggling with another mental health issue like depression, trauma, or an anxiety disorder. This is known as having a dual diagnosis disorder and our facility is trained in identifying and simultaneously treating both the addiction and the co-occurring disorder. We have a consulting psychiatrist on staff who will work with the client closely in monitoring the symptoms of both diagnoses and prescribe medication if necessary.

Meet the Staff
Kim HomanProgram DirectorKim Homan has worked in the substance abuse field since 2005. Kim has experience in counseling, supervision, and program development. Prior to joining Sunrise Recovery, Kim was Regional Director for Forterus Heatlh (a.k.a A Better Tomorrow). Kim has a Masters of Science degree in Counseling Psychology for California Baptist University, a Bachelors degree in Psychology from University of Phoenix, and she is State certified with CAADAC as CADC II counselor.
Edwin SuarezChefEdwin is a native of South America and brings over two decades of food preparation and experience to the Sunrise Recovery kitchen. Edwin is experienced in preparing and serving a variety of cuisines from many cultures, including North and South American, European, and Asian. Edwin provides a nutritious and varied menu as well as creating delicious desserts from several continents.
