The Haven will always hold a special place in my heart. They loved me until I could love myself with no judgement. I can’t explain it, but there’s magic in those rooms at the Haven.

They released my loved one without discharge paperwork and used their word against his when asked multiple times for discharge paperwork. They do not lead by example. They manipulate and use fear to keep their clients quiet when questioning policies. Staff used scapegoating and blame to my loved one and others in the facility. When questioned in due respect they refused making appointments to discuss and ROIs and compromised my loved one’s recovery when this individual was doing well and although difficult was abiding by rules. They fabricated lies to improve their image and maintain funding. They violated every code of ethics as social workers and substance abuse counselors to do the best for their client (s), fight for injustice and claim no retribution. Someone needs to realize that you cannot rule your treatment center by fear. Many at this facility deal with the criminal justice system so feel they cannot speak up and when they do, they are punished. How will society conquer recidivism? By not stigmatizing. The Haven told me my loved one was court mandated and labeled him as aggressive because of that. This place is a horrible example of a “front” for helping those dealing with an incredibly difficult disease and they demoralize their clients and punish those who feel enough vulnerability to be open and continue to work hard for autonomy and change. It’s not about who an individual was but who they want to become and poorly trained social workers do not compensate for poor management. Poor example of a program who in the midst of our substance use epidemic only exploits and scapegoats their clients for their own gain. Do NOT go. Find another place who cares. Another example of a non profit and management just seeking and image and not truly caring for individuals and not taking responsibility when they do wrong but placing blame on the clients they should be placing first. Poor health care. And this is part of the problem in drug rehabilitation.

My time in the Haven.....I saw people kicked out who never got any second chances they were honestly in a good place mentally and the staff threw them to the streets and they ended up overdosing after. I was asked to leave when I brought tattoo supplies that were never used in the facility and I held myself accountable. People make mistakes but I feel a program as long as you ain't showing up dirty should be willing to work with you.

I loved the place until they exited me over a mess up with a prescription with no accountability on their part. Sent me right to the streets. I was pretty shocked and never expected them to treat me like that. Luckily I never relapsed. The place is awesome but some of the counselors should not be there, and their medical staff takes no accountability

The facility and/or staff are the ones who are supposed to lead by example, however what can you expect when the therapists don\'t have pride in themselves. They dress poorly, their office is very disorganized, and the place is a dump. The entire place is very ghetto! Seems they don\'t take any pride in their facility. They state they are not about making a person feel guilty; yet they do use manipulation in their strategies by trying to make us feel guilty if we decide not stay a full 90 day program. They tend to generalize and have the attitude that ONE SIZE FITS ALL treatment and don\'t take into consideration that what works for some doesn\'t work for everyone. Additionally their ALUMNI POWERED system as they call is just another way of having the patients take the \"salaried\" staff responsibilities - so they can save in hiring new employees. Research other places first; this place is cheap so you get exactly what you pay for: poor therapy, poor attention, & poor facilities.
