Valle Vista Health System is celebrating more than 30 years of providing mental health and addictions treatment. Our mission is to be a positive life changing resource for our patients, their families and our community. What started in October, 1983 continues to thrive today. Our Physicians and staff continue to lead in both experience and in providing quality treatment services for those suffering from mental health or addiction problems. Valle Vista offers a full continuum of care including day or evening outpatient services, intensive outpatient services, partial hospitalization, residential treatment and acute inpatient services.

Dual Diagnosis/ Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment
These two terms describe a person who is not only addicted to drugs or alcohol, but also has a mental or emotional illness, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. Facilities that treat patients with dual-diagnosis or co-occurring disorders provide psychiatric treatment in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.Individualized Treatment
Some facilities have an addiction treatment protocol that all patients or clients are expected to follow, while others customize or individualize treatment based on a person’s unique needs and circumstances. Factors that may affect treatment decisions include age, lifestyle, medical conditions, type of drug, religious beliefs, etc.

Meet the Staff
- Sherri JewettCEOSherri Jewett was named Chief Executive Officer in August of 2011. She joined Valle Vista from Horizon Health, where she served as vice president of operations. With nearly thirty five years of executive experience, Sherri has extensive knowledge of the behavioral health field. Sherri holds a strong record of business growth and outstanding regulatory compliance, while achieving clinical and operational goals and exceeding patient and referral satisfaction measures. She holds a master’s degree in hospital administration/public health from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a bachelor’s in business administration from Southwest Baptist University (Missouri).
- Jennifer Comer, MDMedical DirectorBoard-certified adult and child and adolescent psychiatrist Jennifer Comer, MD, joined Valle Vista in 2007. Dr. Comer previously served as the chief resident of psychiatry at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, where she also completed her medical degree and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. As medical director, Dr. Comer oversees Valle Vista’s quality of care. Her leadership skills have been recognized with many honors and awards, and she is proud of her involvement with the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
